Each year, Honens spends thousands of dollars bringing Laureates and guest artists to Calgary and taking 2022 Honens Prize Laureate Illia Ovcharenko around the world to debut concerts and tours received as part of the Artist Development Program. This year is no different. In fact, the pandemic and the impact it’s had on airlines has resulted in a substantial increase in travel costs.
That’s why we’re asking for your help. Every three years, the Honens International Piano Competition invites the world to Calgary, making it a global hub for arts and culture and in the years between, Honens promotes and shares the incredible music of talented artists and its Laureates with Calary and the world.
