Applicant Screening Panel
The Applicant Screening Panel evaluates candidate applications based on proposed Competition programming, experience suitable to age, and reference letters. The Panel chooses 50 pianists to advance to the Quarterfinals: International Audition Round.
Artist Selection Panel: First Jury
The Artist Selection panel meets at The Banff Centre to evaluate the 50 videotaped Quarterfinals recitals and candidate interviews. The Panel selects ten pianists to advance to the Competition Semifinals: Recital Round in Calgary.
Laureate Selection Panel: Second Jury
The Laureate Selection Panel selects the five finalists, the winner of the Raeburn Prize for Artist of Special Promise and the 2012 Honens Laureate from Competition performances in the Semifinals: Recital Round and Finals: Concerto Round.
